Facebook confuses me.

Bleeeh. Debate is terribly hard. I'm still trying to wrack my brain for ideas on my speech about teaching elementary kids a foreign language. I need to have it done by today and have another one done by tomorrow. Eck! But I'm working on it, sooo. I got my debate suit yesterday, though, which means I'm prepared for my tournament a week from now in that aspect, at least? (:

Well hi. (:
So school's crazy, really. I have so much work and, well, I procrastinate. I'm getting better at doing my work earlier, though! Debate is a lot of work, too, and I have a ton of english. I got a schedule change today, so my schedule is now....

A-Day
Geometry
Student Council
P.E.
Debate

B-Day
Biology
Geography
English
Spanish

All my classes are on B-days, so I have most of my homework (all of my homework....) the days before B-days, like tonight. Tomorrow I have two tests and have to stay after school for debate, since I'm competing in a tournament not this week but the next. Agh! I'm a little nervous about that. Debate is difficult and i'm competing in Extemp - which is where you get a topic and thirty minutes to come up with a speech...- and congress - which requires several speeches and articles and such.

Actually, if you happen to find any articles on teaching children foreign languages, I need it for debate! So send me one? Hah. :D

Today I was just looking in the mirror, disgusted with the fact that my tan is - literally - peeling off and then I happened to feel a set of tiny feet on my legs. And guess what! There was a cockroach crawling on my leg. So, I screamed - loudly- and ran off. Stupid creepy crawly.
The End.

Oh! Oh! I thought of some things to write!!

[A.] I have a headache.
[B.] Today I looked up & recorded the capital of every state in the US in my journal because on the car ride home from Clearwater last night me & Dad were trying to name them to pass the time.
[C.] I discovered I know more capitals of nations than states.
[D.] I cried three times in the past three days because of the same reason - a really stupid reason. NOT because I'm homesick or anything, though I am missing everyone and my comfy bed <3
[E.] I discovered I did, in fact, over pack. Maybe next year?
[F.] It's recently occurred to me that in less than three months I'll be fifteen years old. Which means I can get a learners permit! So anyone wanna buy me a Drivers Ed book? Wink, wink. (; It also occurred to me that I know absolutely none of the streets in Arlington's names.
[G.] We may still be going to North Carolina (Capital - Raleigh) and Georgia (Capital - Atlanta).
[H.] I reeeeally want to go travel to Europe! But I believe that would be called a "No Go".
[I.] It doesn't seem like it's been almost a month that I've been here!
[J.] I have a loose tooth, FINALLY. I discovered it when I bit into a piece of Cuban (Capital - Havana) bread.
[K.] How do you all like The History of Love? I don't expect you all to love it like I do, I want to know your honest opinion on it.

&&&That's all the writing my headache will allow me to do!
I find it really amusing you all are reading my book. <3 Haha.

Well! I'm finally making an update, though it wont be much of one. I'm not in a writing mood, really. So! I promise a reaaal update tomorrow!

8 days till I get back.

mediocrity: averageness: ordinariness as a consequence of being average and not outstanding.

That's the perfect word for today. Not much going on. I finished my book, The History of Love. And I, well, loved it. It's my new favorite book, definitely. It's so complex and interesting and it doesn't fall together until the very last pages. Very good book. It's inspirational and beautiful and I can relate to some of the minor characters. In fact, one of the characters seems exactly like an older version of me. Anyways, I wish I could write like Nicole Krauss does. She has a way with words, I tell ya'.

The long awaited update! It's taken me awhile, eh? I've been lazy the past few days and this weekend we went camping. So!

Saturday - Sunday; Went camping at Jetty Park, right next to the beach. It was hot out, to say the least, and thanks to the relentless heat and sunshine produced by the sun - I got a tan! ....And a burn. But that's gone now, luckily, leaving me a nice few shades darker. Audrey was cute and I enjoyed playing mommy and watching her. Little kids say the cutest things! Two bad things happened, though. Keith lost his wedding band in the sea and his car started acting up.

Monday; Keith & Audrey left. :(

Tuesday - Wednesday; Did the same thing I always do - computer.

Thursday; Bought the book I have to read for summer - A long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier - and one I heard was good - The History of Love by Nichole Krauss. And wow. I love that book! The way it's written is so unique and some of the things it says..... I love it. I'm half way through it now and plan to finish it today, but once I do I'm pretty sure It's going to be one of my all-time favorites.

Today; Nada. Yo puedo usar la computador o estudiar espanol y matematicas o dibujar o leer.

PICTURES PROVIDED BELLOW.

Keith & Audrey are coming over to spend the night at Dad's. It'll be a 'ruff night, I tell ya'! Audrey kicks and says repetitive "No's" in her sleep and guess who's my bed buddy? She's a cutie though and I really don't mind at all. It kinda amuses me, to tell you the truth. God, I can't believe she's six! I feel old.... :/

Well, I don't know what I'm doing today. And that's really it.(:

Did you know YouTube has a wealth of videos on how to learn Swedish? I didn't. Brilliant. I was hoping they would! At the moment I'm trying to grasp how to say the alphabet, which is twenty-nine letters and nine vowels, and that's really all I'm going to attempt to learn today. I don't really know why I want to learn Swedish, exactly, but it seems like a really neat language.
The End?
I love Florida, I really do - except for the fact that it takes forever for my hair to dry and the humidity makes me have a perpetually bad hair day.

So far I've;
*Had my glasses get washed away to sea (couldn't see at the sea :D) only to be found thirty minutes later by two boys my Dad offered fifty bucks in reward to.
*Been to the mall twice with my step sister, Krystal. I acquired a pretty new top.(:
*Visited my grandpa and grandma on my dad & grandfather's birthday, June 14th, and went out to eat with Dad, Papa Link, Grandma Pat, Sara, Aunt Donna, and Uncle Mike. I ate a disgusting Thai wrap and a few bites of my dad's pasta.
*Bought three new bracelets at the neat little shop at Old Town.
*Attempted to finish my book The Know-It-All, but failed. For some reason I can't seem to get through it no matter how much time I spend reading it.
*Opened up my Swedish & French books and glanced at them.

I believe I covered everything? Below I'll post some pictures, captions included - of course.

-View at Dad's house from the porch.

-What nerds have in their beach bags! A dictionary, journal, and vocabulary book shown but under that is camera, phone, hairbands, etc.

-Bracelets I got. Pretty, eh?

-The beach! Before the waves got big and knocked off my glasses.
-Hahaha. Had to throw this one in here. I told him to do a muscle man pose :D

Just got on the computer for the first time since Thursday and it feels like forever ago. I need to email, upload pictures, and tell what I've been up to - but I don't feel like it right now (: Tomorrow?

Packing 2

I'm packing slowly, to say the least. A little at a time. I'm having a hard time deciding whether to bring this shirt or that shirt or these jeans or those, because I'm making myself bring only ten shirts and ten shorts/jeans/skirts and ten sets of pajamas. But I'm allowing myself over ten books and socks, etc because how am I supposed to pick between To Kill A Mockingbird and This Lullaby? Impossible.
And it's not fun. Not fun AT ALL.
I also keep thinking about the panic attack I know I'm going to have tomorrow (yes, I know I shouldn't thinking about it. Whatever.), because air ports and baggage claim and leaving home and flying in general is one of the most stressful things I can think of. And even though I've gone on about, oh, a billion plane rides in my life - every time I still have major anxiety issues. Luckily, I know that the moment I walk onto the plane the stress will melt away, replaced by the boredom and restlessness I get from sitting in the same place for over two hours. It doesn't help that my flight takes off at seven thirty in the morning either, meaning I have to wake up around five. Or earlier. Happy, happy days. I'm not a morning person. And, I'm not the type of person who can sleep on the plane. Doze for a total of five minutes, yes. Sleep, no.
Oh! And I don't know if I'll even have my iPod to listen to this time because of my faulty computer not being around to give juice to it. I'm going to attempt to power it with the computer I'm using now, Mom's, but no guarantees it will work. I may be iPodless for over a month. Not a happy thought. But really! I'm looking forward to my trip. I know I'll have lots and lots of fun and I miss my Dad. So, it's all good in the grand scheme of things. Plus, I'll get to go to the beach.(: I loooooooove the beach!

I think I better go pack now. :/

Packing

Packing is a difficult feat for the indecisive. And I'm not looking forward to it one single bit.
"You're like a vase. A very rare, manufactured vase."
-Jo W.

That seemed so profound to me when I read it. I read it again, blinked, and wanted to give my friend a very big virtual hug over myspace messaging. I don't know if she fabricated it herself, if she read it, if it's something she tells a lot of people. I don't care. It's spectacular and brilliant. Because for some reason, it struck me and sunk into my conscious. And I think I like it. I like it quite a lot. And if I don't remember Miss Jolita by her fabulous personality, hilarious stories, and that fact that she is defined as simply the word 'riot' - I'll remember that statement.
